Our favorite dining spot during our visit to Ireland in April 2022 was An File Bar in Westport. After our first lunch there, we couldn't wait to return and ended up going back several times. This traditional Irish pub, located in the heart of Westport on the Octagon in County Mayo, is popular among locals and visitors alike for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features traditional Irish pub grub made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients and includes classics like bangers and mash, vegetable soup and brown bread, chicken sandwich, green salad with panko crumbed goat cheese, and seafood chowder. The full service bar offers Guinness, wine, spirits, and even prosecco to pair with your meal. Don't forget to ask for the hearty brown bread, which is unforgettable and delicious. Overall, An File is a must-visit spot for a meal or a creamy Guinness in Westport. You won't be disappointed.

I had dinner here after exploring Clare Island. The roast beef dinner was delicious. The staff were friendly and provided quick service even though the restaurant was busy. I would definitely recommend this place.
