R J's - Weston

Had a long trip in, and decided to stop for a couple of beers. I arrived at RJ 's, and was met at the door by the bartender(nice lady), to put on my mask(which I understand), and to place my hands, in a hot bucket of water (luke warm), and was seated at her table. Her table was a table placed right by the bar in between the bar, and the entrance to a pool table, with 2 boxes collecting spent beer bottles, which was removed, and placed under the table after my first beer. Not a very large beer selection, which I understand, it is a small local bar. I order 2 Busch lights, and was told 4 dollars. I had 2. after about 30 minutes or so I decided it was time to go, the bar tender was nice, but to me it just wasn 't a very welcoming atmosphere. I ask for the tab, and keep in mind I am not a penny pincher, but the 4 dollar beer, turned into a 5 dollar beer, within the 30 minutes I was there. I tabbed out, and told the fella at the door have a good night. He wasn 't the most welcoming person I have encountered. This is just my Experience. I did not write this to make your mind up for you, or discourage you from visiting this establishment. Just my experience there. Weston as a whole is, a pretty cool town, decent amount of options for drinks, and food all within a walkable stretch. If you decide to stop in, who knows, maybe you wont have the experience I did, but personally I will not be returning.

With a heavy heart, my wife and I visited this beloved bar for the last time. It will soon be under new ownership, and it will never be the same. TJ, you have touched our hearts in ways you can’t imagine. From the laughter to the tears, you will always hold a special place in our lives. This is a fantastic neighborhood bar that’s definitely worth visiting! Make sure to ask for TJ, who is the bartender you’ll want to serve you!

RJ's is an incredibly charming and historic bar that offers a fantastic atmosphere. The staff and owner are some of the friendliest people you'll ever encounter. And did I mention how much fun it is?!

If I could give a negative star, I definitely would. Where to begin? Let's start with the bartender and her unpleasant attitude. When we stop in for just one beer before dinner, we don’t need to deal with her rude sarcasm. If she kept her opinions to herself, she might do better in her job. It's no surprise we didn’t leave a tip, and neither did the other group with us. We came to enjoy our time, not to listen to her disrespectful comments and negative attitude towards other guests. I can only imagine what she said about us after we left, considering she seemed to have something to say about every non-local who walked in. I could complain all night, but it’s pointless—she's unlikely to change. I regret stopping here before dinner. What a disappointment and a total dive.
