They only have four umbrellas and about 15 tables, so expect to absolutely bake in the sun while you wait for your extremely mediocre food. Cash only. Are inmy car because I was getting swarmed by bees and couldn?t get a table with an umbrella.
I 'll probably just echo other sentiments already expressed here: The soft-serve ice cream is excellent, if you 're into that sort of thing. I personally do not like strawberry ice cream, but the javaberry swirl is a popular option. The dipped optionfor ice cream is highly recommended. Business is cash-only, but has an ATM on-site. It is a tad bit pricier than you 'd hope, but such is life.
This charming old ice cream shop has a friendly staff. However, the prices are on the higher side, as expected for a popular ice cream place with a long history. The variety of flavors is decent. Overall, these factors contribute to an average rating.
I visited a farm nearby and decided to stop for ice cream with my children. We ordered some food and had to wait for our order to be called. The food didn't take too long to be ready. When I heard my number, I went to the window but there was no one there initially. After a young girl walked by carrying a case of water, she finally noticed me and I tried to hand her my ticket. However, she seemed to stare at me in a strange way. I told her my number was 605 and she just kept looking at me, not understanding. Eventually, she tried to gather the rest of my order, but at that point, I was already fed up with the establishment. She should have taken my ticket, confirmed my food order, and sent me on my way like she did with other customers. The establishment has been around since 1961, so I expected better customer service. This is Weston, MA, after all. I would give this place a zero-star review, but I will give one star to the nice blonde girl with blue eyes who took our order. She was sweet, but unfortunately, the rest of the staff did not match her level of service.
We decided to stop at this restaurant while touring through New England because my wife's great grandmother used to live in the area and would often visit this place. We had a pleasant lunch and enjoyed some ice cream. I ordered the Caprese salad, which was excellent and filled with marinated mozzarella balls, sundried tomatoes, lettuce, fresh basil, pesto, and fresh tomatoes. My kids loved the cheeseburgers, which were generously sized. The soft serve ice cream had a limited selection of flavors, but was still tasty. Just a heads up, this restaurant only accepts cash payments.
