One of the dishes, the lasagna had good flavour. The scallop risotto looked good but the scallops were completely translucent and springy and were undercooked. The duck gnocchi is a very mixed bag. The bit of duck I tried was actually delicious. The gnocchi had the consistency of a dollop of mashed potato and couldn’t even keep their shape they nearly looked like melted cheese on the plate. Our waitress was understanding when we showed her and had the plates taken away and replaced. The owner came out and first proceeded to tell my friend that scallops are meant to be medium rare, I guess thinking that she wasn’t aware. However the 3 scallops she got on her $50 dollar dish were truly undercooked. He then started telling me that the gnocchi there are not like the ones I “get frozen at king soopers”. I have visited Italy on multiple occasions, have made fresh gnocchi myself and dined at multiple high end Italian restaurants in the US and these were really not what home made gnocchi should be like.Places have off nights. And I was happily going to accept that, but the owner came across as defensive and patronising which was fairly off-putting.To add insult to injury, as we we’re leaving a different member of the wait staff asked us if we had paid which of course we had.Disappointing.
Food was delish, portion size was good. Wife was not impressed with service. Solid 4/5
Good experience. Eating is very good. all kinds of wine, beer, mixed drinks to enjoy their meal. prices a little high but pleasant. good idea to make a reservation. next to pennys in orchard. service was good.
Much overpriced for what it is. eating was dirty with only one sauce. not good Italian food. server patrick, was attentive and nice (the only great at the meal) update: I would like to thank charlie (the owner) for the answer. many businesses get defensiw and do not listen to their customers. I will take her answer to the heart and give her restaurant another shot, charlie.
I left this place with my wife after enjoying a lunch. that was our first time to eat here. we ordered the polnta and birne as an app, she had the chicken orecchiette, I had the ente confit gnocchi, we shared a panna cotta and a kodialkaffee for dessert. the bill was $95. I will give this place a second chance, but here are the reasons for 2 stars and details that I dissapointed as a chef of almost 15 years. Maybe I came the wrong day. the pear and polnta app was perfectly balanced and tasty. I can't expect to order it again. 9.5/10 the ingredients in our escape were premium. it was found that the chef cook very confiscated by the quality of the ingredients and it showed in the dressed. but when the gnocchi arrived, they were not similar to any wise gnocchi. I know they can be difficult to make/stock, but the small stack of wet teig under the vegetables showed a clear lack of ability to leave a plate that costs up from 28.$ how did that leave the kitchen? In addition, parts of the duck were dry and chewing. if completely submerged and properly prepared, the meat motif and texture should be continuous. 3/10 the chicken orchiette was much better. preimium ingredients shown to be a well organized pasta dish with balanced aromen, only distracted by dry chicken 7.5/10The panna cotta was not properly set and was the consistency of a watery pudding. I also found what seemed to be coffee plant in the bottom of the container. further inspection revealed that these are chocolate residues. I was sure it was intentional, but I would be surprised to learn that the chef intends to set a small amount of ground chocolate in the bottom of the cup of a zesty berry vanille panna cotta, wether correctly or differently. 4/10The drinks were fantastic, the service was moderate, the menu looks promising, the owner looks clear, but the execution of the food was extremely disastrous. After checking the menu before our meal, I was excited to come back soon to try the scallottes and another of the Risotto dishes, but now I prefer to give it a few weeks to the risk that the amount of money could be done on something that could be as bad as the gnocchi. the high-end food should not be gamble. we were willing to make this place a weekly date night place. we will come back to shoot this place in the future again.
