There are a lot of good fish chips places in and around Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo…but Troll’s is definitely worth skipping one ferry sailing to to enjoy one of the best.

The restaurant is large and spacious and, although it was busy, found space for our family of seven. Staff were friendly and efficient. The menu was varied and covered a wide range of options with beer also available. Prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was good: not too noisy, despite the number of people present and not too warm or stuffy. Different sports were showing on several TV channels and people were relaxed. Most seating is indoors, but there was some limited seating on a pavement terrace as well. The toilet facilities were small but clean. A perfect spot to have a meal whilst waiting for the ferry!Parking: We arrived in the evening and found a place nearby on the street, but things may be busier during the day.

Calamari was overcooked and tough. Everything else was fine. Staff was friendly, and the view from the patio was great.

Amazing view, and lovely atmosphere! hands down one of the best fish and chips restaurant in BC! The service was a bit slow considering the fact that I visited in quiet hours! The waitress forgot about my dessert order and I left my table to pay and leave after waiting long enough!
