Banana Leaf Malaysian Cuisine

Dropped in to this place on a family visit. Just by a whim and it was easily the most delicious food we have had in years! The service was great, everyone is dressed in bright fabric aprons and very helpful. The chicken was tender, the noodles cooked to perfection. All the sauces rocked with flavour and juice. Nothing here was disappointing.

Walked into West Broadway restuarant without a booking. It was clearly popular. It was a short walk from our hotel. Service was excellent, swift, fresh tasty authentic food, attentive staff all with a smile. Food was so good we decided to look for another branch on our return to Vancouver at the end of our holiday.

At an appt near by and the receptionist advised they have the best food there and they are consistently good.Ran in and asked for the lunch menu and choose the vegetable curry with rice and their spring-roll combination for $9.00 as the manager advised it was the quicker option of the two I was considering.True to his word it arrived quickly and I quickly tried the spring-roll so it wouldn't get soggy. It had a lovely combination of vegetables and spices. The curried vegetables stayed hot until I arrived at the office.I'll be going back either for the $20 per person lunch special that includes a variety of applies and curries they also have a $30 special for evenings. Wine pairings came be arranged.Intrigued now by Malaysian and will be back for the trial dinner menu!Vegetarian, Vegan and gluten free options available.

An interesting menu of delightful Malaysian cuisine. The staff are helpful and polite. We came upon the Banana Leaf when looking for a restaurant for a late ( 9pm) dinner; everywhere else nearby was closed but the Banana Leaf came to our rescue.

My expectations might have been too high. 2-3 people spoke to me highly about the restaurant. Seeing the place packed at 7pm with a line-up of 20-30 mins I was under the impressions I have going to enjoy a great meal. So, unfortunately I was disappointed. The cuisine is good but I have tried much tastier meals especially for the price they ask. May be I didn't select the right meal . The fried oysters were not as tasty as I would have expected. The scallop dish was blend, no character. Service was good. I will give it another try but for now it is not at the top of my favorite spot in Vancouver.
