This hotel looks smaller from the outside (and parking is limited although there is a roadside bay a short distance away). However, it is apparently spacious inside and has a cozy, old-fashioned atmosphere. There are tables outside too, if the weather is good. Dogs are allowed if meals are served in the bar area (approx. 6 tables). The main restaurant is dog-free. While we waited for our meals to be served, we made use of the contest cards that had been given to us, a great idea for all ages and excellent conversation starters. The food was delicious, with generous portions and served on hot plates. We didn't have room for desserts, so I can't comment on them. We will definitely eat there again.
My friends and I decided to visit this pub while staying at a nearby campsite. The owner was friendly, but the overall look of the place indicated it was in need of some maintenance. There were cobwebs on the plants on the windowsills and many plastic flowers scattered around. It could benefit from a deep cleaning both inside and out, particularly the women's restroom which had noticeable black marks along the edges. Despite seeing a few customers dining, the place was relatively empty for a weekend, which was a letdown.
After a challenging night of camping in inclement weather in small tents, we decided to dine at the pub across the street. Despite its modest exterior and limited parking, the inn surprised us with its spacious interior and charming, classic ambiance. Outdoor seating is also available for sunny days. Dogs are permitted in the bar area, which has approximately six tables, but the main dining area is reserved for patrons without pets. While waiting for our meals, we entertained ourselves with the quiz cards provided, which were enjoyed by all and sparked lively conversation. The food was delectable, with generous portions served on heated plates. Although we were too full to sample dessert, we would gladly return for another meal.
