We get our own gorgeous tea pots with a tea we choose. Our group each had a cup of others’ which is a great way to try lots of flavors. And the food. Omg the food was so good . Everything was so fresh tasting and flavorful. Our whole group raved about the broccoli cheddar soup. I wish they sold take home servings! Will be going again for a different theme.
Update: The review they are claiming to be mine is not. It's my partners and we have two separate reviews as two separate people patronizing a business. They talked to staff and my partner fit the description of someone who seemed not to know it was a community event and they discussed that with us yesterday? That's weird because we literally never even mentioned it to any staff members much less discussed it? Anyway, like I said I was gonna leave a 3 star review until I saw their behavior online. If you want to make money in your community you should like try to at least be cordial towards them. Someone leaving a bad review giving you feedback you have received so many times saying something as simple as paid a lot of money to sit with strangers and be unable to hear my partner did not warrant that type of response. Go touch grass. I was going to go easy on them as I like to support local businesses and don't like to leave bad reviews for local spots but after seeing them name call a customer who provided them with feedback they didn't like and seeing the way they responded so childishly literally told them to open their own tea place if they don't like this one) to a review they didn't like, I decided to be as brutal to them as they deserve. Yes, the description does say it is a community table. However, they easily could have had everyone at their own tables for something a little more intimate. The people at our table were so sweet so I didn't mind. However, if you want this to be more of a cute little romantic date this is not it and honestly it would have been nice to be at our own table instead of being forced to commune with strangers. Not everyone is an extrovert. That being said, while the tea was wonderful that food was downright terrible. Bread for the sandwiches was stale. The quiche was raw at the bottom. Egg salad was tasteless. Cheesy potato casserole was worse than hamburger helper. Every savory item was bland. Ever heard of salt? Guess not. Broccoli soup was clearly prepacked. Actually, I think I recognize it as Bear Creek cheddar broccoli? Even the sweets were bland. Lemon macaron was alright but the strawberry one didn't taste like anything other than sugar. Pretty sure I've had them from Grocery Outlet out of the frozen section. The pumpkin pasties were ok but again, quite bland. These people are either getting their items premade or afraid to season their food. The ONLY redeeming item on the platter was the clotted cream and scones. But even the scones were stale and dry. They were just a vehicle to eat clotted cream which I adore. Clearly no love or care goes into the food. While I was in England I had afternoon tea at a Michelin star restaurant for 45 pounds $58 USD) per person. And that's the expensive one! I mean you can have a Harry Potter afternoon tea for two at Warner Bros Studios in London for 80 pounds $103 USD) Here we paid $75 PER PERSON for food that was mediocre at best to downright inedible. When the server came to offer a box for all the food we had left on the tray, we declined. Zero desire to finish eating any of that. The staff were great. The magician was great. The decor was cool. But this Harry Potter thing is just another gimmick. Save yourself the money and skip this one. I'll be sure to share with my friends who were excited to hear how it was and save them the money. I would have gone back for tea at this place because I dig the steampunk vibe and the tea I had was wonderful. But after seeing the owners response on here I would never patronize this business again. TL;DR: food was terrible, more expensive than a Michelin star afternoon tea in England, owner rude to customers that provide feedback they don't like, just a gimmick
I mean I guess if they 're gonna accuse me of using multiple accounts to leave them a bad review I might as well actually do that. For a place that strives to make you feel at home they sure don 't seem to actually care about that mission and would rather lose a customer than accept any feedback that 's less than stellar.
75 dollars and I have to share a table with strangers, can't even hear my partner
Great place for a special occasion. Took my mother here as a mother's day gift and we had a good time.
