Asked for fresh towels since we did not have the room made up on our second day. 1.5 hours and 2 calls later they brought us 2 towels. Next time i will request the room to be made up every day, if their is a next time. But i doubt it!Rooms: Nice room. Very noisy.
IF YOU WANT TO AVOID A BOOKING NIGHTMARE, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTELI booked a stay at the Cambria in West Orange under a room block on June 21, my first time staying at a Choice Hotel. Months later (Sept. 3) the hotel quietly emailed me about my upcoming stay and the total price listed was double what the initial confirmation total had stated. I called the hotel about the discrepancy, and they refused to honor the original price I booked/ that had been sent in the initial confirmation email.I am part of a wedding block and do not know how many people may be affected by the error that the Cambria made on their own end. I am posting this review in part to warn other customers about their horrible service and attempt to scam customers into paying more for the hotel’s own mistake.I travel frequently as a reporter, and have mentioned Choice Hotels to my superiors for future bookings. However, if the hotel charges me double for a mistake they made, I will never stay at a Choice Hotel again.
Extremely disappointed to say the least. This hotel was one of the least accommodating hotels I have ever sleep at. First, we were there for a wedding and their computer system had “glitched” when we all first got a room, so a week before the wedding we all learned that our stay would literally DOUBLE!They have this “texting service” to use for your needs which is WORTHLESS. We asked them to clean our room twice (once the day before and once the day of) and they just didn’t do it. We had NO clean towels and we went down to the front desk and they said they don’t have clean towels because there are two weddings this weekend (which is NOT our problem). Later that day they proceeded to CALL OUR ROOM to tell us to put our garbage and dirty towels in the hallway so they can give us new towels. It was honestly so disgusting.THEN… we were getting ready in our hotel room and another family tried to get in, come to find out THEY DOUBLE BOOKED OUR ROOM.On another night we came back from the rehearsal dinner and our keys didn’t work. So we went down to the front desk to get new keys then went back up THE NEW KEYS DIDNT WORK. So we went back down and told them again that our keys didn’t work and they proceeded to get angry with us that we kept coming down for new keys even though this wasn’t our fault.The building looks nice but it is actually in disarray. Our desk in our room was being held up by the chair underneath.The pool is TINY and it’s indoor, but it was cold. This was also unfortunate.Overall, rating this experience a 1/10 for the poor accommodations, poor communication, and poor infrastructure.
Stayed for four nights, the first night we had a questionable sheet and the manager came right the way to change and left us breakfast vouchers. We used it the morning before leaving, had a great service from Chima, very professional. Overall, 4 stars for rooms, 5+ stars for service and 5 stars for location with parking.
$150 deposit upon check in, rude front desk staff, if you call the front desk she puts you immediately through to choice hotels national reservations line instead of doing her job and helping you, will allow others to charge your card at the restaurant/incidentals so take a good look at your itemized bill.
