Sam's Southern Eatery - West Monroe

I visited the restaurant for a relaxing lunch, but it was even hotter inside than outside. I couldn’t enjoy my meal without breaking a sweat. When I asked the cashier to lower the temperature, she kindly explained that it was already set to the lowest it could go. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must be for the employees to work in such heat every day. The food was excellent, but the lack of air conditioning was hard to overlook. However, I appreciated that the cashier offered us her personal fan to help keep cool.

The food was decent, but the service left much to be desired. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing, and during every interaction, we were reminded that they would be closing soon and had to lock the doors. We felt restricted in our seating and overall, it was a disappointing customer experience. The three stars are solely for the food.

The cleanliness of this restaurant leaves much to be desired. I noticed some green mold growing in the chute, which is concerning. Additionally, it could really benefit from having a waitress on staff. Overall, the fast food offered here is not impressive.

Literally the worst service I have ever experienced. Horrible food. I recorded how the woman literally laughed at me and made every excuse in the book and changed or manipulated everything I said when she called the ?owner? who is apparently out of the country. Refused to even give me a managers name or a refund for the food she messed up due to her ignorance or lack of comprehension.

Have eaten here for years. This is my go-to place for oyster poboys and fried green tomatoes. Came in today for both. Can't believe I wasted my money. The oysters were very tough and the green tomatoes were off. I asked about the tomatoes and was told that the cook soaks them in pickle juice. If I wanted fried dill pickles I would order them. Everything today was salted to the max. There was a strange almost chemical odor about everything, even the food. I actually heard another customer complain about the fried green tomatoes. I won't be returning.
