Mimi Gin - West Lancashire

Had lunch here today, very cold day, restaurant was very cold, sat by door, freezing whenever door opened. They did put heating on after about an hour, shame, sat through whole meal with coat and scarf on. That aside, food was lovely, 5 of us went, all enjoyed our meals, staff nice enough although we did have to ask them to come over and take drinks orders and clear table. Cheap food, good portion sizes. Would definitely return. Nice drinks too.

We’ve been in when busy and great atmosphere but went Thursday 7th November at about 4pm , late lunch/early tea lol ! Although quiet still a lovely atmosphere, service great, my partner made up with the White Russian cocktail as not all places do it. We ordered tapas and all were delicious, the choice is limited but maybe that’s not bad as everything really was excellent. We love tapas, portions great, sooo tasty would highly recommend a visit.

Had a lovely lunch here today, we all chose the roast turkey, good selection of veg accompanied a sizeable portion of turkey, excellent Yorkshire pudding and additional jug of gravy! We each chose a different dessert, the chef’s home made ice cream, warm brownie with caramel sauce and ice cream and the baked cheesecake. Delicious coffee to accompany it. One of our party had a G&T from the large selection of gins available. Will definitely be going again.

The food was good, all homemade and good value for money, but we waited ages for it and they forgot our pizza so we had to wait again. The restaurant was also very cold, no heating on. Everyone sitting in coats but as we were leaving about 1pm the heating came on. It should have been on at 11am and turned off when the place became full. The toilet left a lot to be desired, seat hanging off, no soap or towel. With a few tweaks this could become the No. 1 place in Ormskirk to eat as the food was amazing and plenty of choice.

Visited with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. The drinks were lovely and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend Mimi Gin for any occasion!
