When we arrived there was no record of our table reservation but that was the only disappointment of the evening. there were plenty of empty tables on this Tuesday night. The restaurant is set up very formally for fine dining. The service was efficient without being over friendly. The food service was very unobtrusive everything happened as ordered and delivered with the minimum of fuss. We took a bottle of wine from our own cellar $20 corkage) and the waiter provided a decanter for the wine. The food was fabulous not one item disappointed any of us. I particularly enjoyed the sake squid entree. The oysters, dumplings, pork belly, duck etc were all delicious. My wife and I shared a creme brûlée that was presented in an interesting fashion. I finished with a liquor coffee called The Big Sleep very nice. By the time we were finishing our coffees, the restaurant was empty and closing but the staff did not encourage us to leave. They just waited until we were ready to go. Prices were reasonable for this level of restaurant and we received a small discount as guests of the resort. Very happy to recommend this restaurant.
I started with the ciabatta which came spread with butter. This made it extra rich when having to dip into olive oil. The steak did it for me , was very tasty and tender , would not recommend the vegan fritters, dry and overpriced. The waiters seemed to want to drive the menu but did the job. What saved the night was the piano player, worth tipping. Probably be my first and last.
We had dinner at Crusoe's last night and it was absolutely beautiful! I had the Tomato Tart for entree and my husband had the Gnocchi very quick service and both looked and tasted amazing. We had the signature beef and pork to share for our main course again beautifully cooked and tasted great! And then dessert.. By far one of the best desserts I have ever had! It was the Chocolate Mille Feuille. It looked absolutely beautiful and tasted even better definitely one for a chocolate lover! My husband had the Lemon Curd Tart which he also enjoyed. Overall, a great night with great service and fantastic food we will definitely be back!
