Cafe Sofia - West Hartford

Avoid this restaurant, the owner is rude. I typically don't leave negative reviews, but I have to say the woman at the register/owner was incredibly disrespectful. I walked in hoping to order a crepe for my girlfriend, but after waiting 2 minutes (with no one else in line), she abruptly informed me that I couldn't order because I had ice cream for my girlfriend's mom in my hand. She even threatened that I wouldn't be allowed to order next time if I brought in any outside items. She insisted that I should only enjoy items from their establishment, even though they are supposed to be serving customers. This behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will never return to this place, I'd rather spend my money on ice cream elsewhere.

Met up with a friend so she could buy her caffeine fix here I had a sealed boba tea from elsewhere (was going to buy a pastry though, not anymore). Was rudely chewed out by the lady with the accent for having outside food and drink . So I went outsideto wait for my friend and didn 't buy anything, and will not in the future. my friend got a tiny iced coffee for 6 bucks andwasn 't thrilled either.

The crepes were mediocre. The iced chocolate was awful and not even cold. I requested extra sweet iced tea but it was not sweet at all. The food was of poor quality and overpriced.

I was very taken back by the rudeness and customer service. I brought my daughter for some crepes and I had a drink in my hand which I easily could have left in the car. The person basically said she won?t serve me and that she will do me a favor bymaking my crepes to go because I can?t sit in their establishment with a drink. Honestly, I won?t go back there again. If shewould have said it nicely I would have gladly thrown it out. She was very rude and in times of Covid you think you rather havea customer order food than not at all just because they have a small drink.

The outdoor seating at this restaurant provides a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying coffee and watching people in the lively West Hartford Center, despite being a bit cramped. The only downside is the lack of a decent pastry selection, as the plastic-wrapped pastries are not up to par. Overall, a great spot for coffee with room for improvement in the pastry department.
