Those who did order the tenderloin were very impressed, and I must say it looked impressive. The queen size should suffice for most appetites. It was not thin and sprawling like I've frequently seen elsewhere, but it looked thick and meaty. My club was good, but not amazing. It was impressively thick though.
My office is in West Glen and I'm from Chicago so I wanted to try the Italian Beef sandwich. Could it be the real thing? It is legit, and I've been back a few times and that's all I've ordered. I hear the tenderloins are great, and maybe one day I'll try it. Right now I am having the beef, in fact will be there for lunch again today!
We ordered the queen-sized tenderloins and onion rings, and they also have a king-sized option available. Everything is served à la carte. The onion rings are priced at 6 for $6 or 9 for $9. You might be surprised, but each ring is truly the size of a grapefruit, and I challenge anyone to eat more than two in one sitting! I usually prefer thinner tenderloins, but these were fantastic, with no chewy bits at all. It’s a bit hard to find since there's no sign on the building; it's located in the former space of a Mexican restaurant near the parking garage. Be sure to check out the pictures!
You're likely coming to this restaurant for the Pork Tenderloin sandwich, and believe me, you won't be let down. It's huge, juicy, and has the perfect crunch. Generally, I’m skeptical of places that proclaim to have 'The Best' of anything when it comes to food, but this one might genuinely earn that title. I also sampled their onion rings, which were quite delicious; however, I would have preferred a more unique dipping sauce rather than just ketchup. Unfortunately, the cheese curds didn't impress, so I’d suggest skipping those.
I heard about Nick's and decided to check it out. My first impression was that the decor was decent, although there was an odd smell as soon as we walked in that I couldn't pinpoint. We ordered the Cheese Curds, Bacon Swiss King Tenderloin, Cheeseburger, Italian Grinder, and a basket of fries and onion rings. The King Tenderloin is gigantic with great breading and fantastic flavor, but I could only finish half of it—it's really huge! The other dishes were your standard good bar food. I definitely recommend trying the Tenderloin!
