Sushi Monk - West Chester

This place is a staple spot for me when I 'm town on business. It 's small and cozy and everyone is friendly and laid back. We got the crack appetizer a delicious one bite crunchy/spicy/crab/something else concoction and a couple of raw rolls. We also had miso soup. There 's table seating as well as bar seating where we sat and it was fun to watch the chef make the rolls. He made something and torched it with a blow torch that I plan to order next time because it has jalapeños and looked yummy. The rolls are good if a small selection and they also have sashimi. I got eel and it was delicious. Great spot for good sushi and as quick or long of a meal as you 're in the mood for.

My family and I along with my sister and bro in law came in here about a month ago. It was our first time here and we were friendly greeted by Christina. Christina was extremely nice and got our order after we received our drinks. When the food came out, the sushi, appetizer, steak and dessert was excellent! One of the best sushi experiences we had in Cincinnati.

An amazing DISAPPOINTMENT. So it's Saturday afternoon and we decided to have a special dinner during this damned pandemic so we we went to Grubhub and placed an order for delivery at 5:30 PM. Grubhub did their job well but #SUSHIMONK screwed up. They forgot to include the Shrimp Tempura. We called them and I was told that I had ordered a shrimp roll and when I asked that she check and then we were in agreement, they had substituted the shrimp roll for the Tempura and admitted that it was their error. I then asked that they deliver the shrimp tempura and I was told that I could drive to their place and pick it up and she refused to deliver. My wife (who wanted the shrimp tempura grabbed the phone and she was transferred to the manager (owner? and when she asked for home delivery because we are in self-quarantine, he hung up on her. I realize that this is a tough time for restaurants and older folks like me with congestive heart failure trying hard to increase the probability of staying alive a little longer. #SUSHIMONK is off our list. I should add that this was an order totaling $84.00 less a $10.00 Grubhub discount. When I spend that kind of money for a meal without any adult beverages, I do expect better performance and friendly service.

They have the best food (and dessert) !! They make all the customers feel like family. This is our favorite go-to for a date night out!

Moved to Madeira. Website should tell you they have no alcohol license or soda fountain yet. Food average but prices off the chart. About 40-50% higher than other sushi around. $5 extra to make a tiny cup of steamed rice into fried rice? $9 for a small dessert still frozen (likely from costco)?$12 for 2 small sushi pieces? We could have gone to a fancy steakhouse for the bill we got and we didn't have drinks. Slow service with only a few customers. Very disappointing.
