This is a sad thing! Assacks is out of business! The new ice cream place is good, but I'll miss those turkey pockets, they were unforgettable! To this day! I was just saying it to my husband the other day how I miss their food! The turkey salad was delicious too! Sad they are gone!
Turkey pockets are so delicious! The new location does not have tables to eat at like the last one did and the hours are not as long as before. I wish they would be open on the weekends.
Turkey for Thanksgiving can not be matched, have been baking them them for over 50 years, Turkey pies are the best and turkey sandwiches are amazing..
Looking forward to the visit with my children, who were excited to see a turkey farm for the first time, we arrived to pick up the turkey. To my surprise, when I provided my name, they had no record of my order. I even played the voicemail from Sandy to prove that I had indeed placed an order. A woman then appeared, apologizing for the mix-up, but claimed they had never received my order. She offered me a choice between a cooked turkey or a fresh 25 lb turkey—the only one they had left. While she seemed apologetic, I had no interest in a cooked turkey. Nervously, I accepted the 25 lb fresh turkey, hoping they would charge me the price for the 15 lb bird I originally ordered. When I was rung up and told the price was $106, I was taken aback. I questioned why I was being charged for a larger bird when I had specifically ordered a smaller one. Just then, an employee slammed his hand on the turkey and yelled at me, accusing me of playing games. His aggressive demeanor frightened my children. I clarified that I never asked for a cooked bird, but he cut me off, insisting I had said otherwise. I was shocked and felt compelled to stay because I needed a turkey, but I regrettably paid for the 25 lb bird and left. It was an awful experience, and I couldn’t help but think how I would express to my kids how important it is to treat people with respect. I genuinely would have been a loyal customer, but now I'm hesitant to return. When I asked my 6-year-old if we should come back next year, he immediately said no, stating that the man was mean. Happy Thanksgiving to all—let’s hope for fewer angry encounters in the future!
