While the food was good, it wasn’t exceptional. The jus accompanying both dishes had a very subtle flavor, which made the overall experience feel a bit unbalanced. If the sauce had been improved, the dishes would have been much better. For dessert, we opted for the carrot cake and chocolate mousse. Again, the sauce and cream served with these desserts were quite bland, and with some enhancement, they could have been fantastic. Overall, the desserts felt a bit lackluster. I would consider returning for the view and atmosphere, as it could be a lovely spot for an afternoon drink or snack.
We had the last table for two reserved at 7:30 PM on a Friday night. I absolutely loved the restaurant's atmosphere and the stunning view—it offers a fantastic panorama of the city at night through the clear glass doors, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts! The food and service were outstanding, and I was particularly impressed by the presentation of the dishes. It's unfortunate that they ran out of venison right after we placed our order. We began our meal with Buffalo Mozzarella and Black Angus Beef, and for our main courses, we enjoyed Beef Cheek and Lamb Rump. We wrapped up the evening with Chocolate Mousse and Raspberry Brioche. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant!
I had a lovely meal at this restaurant. The presentation of the dishes was impeccable, and the portions were quite generous. In particular, the ice cream could easily serve two people. However, there were a couple of disappointments: first, they had run out of duck confit, which seemed odd considering the size of the restaurant and the ease of storing duck legs. Second, the lamb rump was overcooked and much drier than the pictures I had seen online.
We want for meal through first table. Atmosphere was great, many other places put first tables customers in a corner Forage Kitchen gave J's a window seat with a great view. Constructive rather than critical Food was good, not amazing, wouldn't pay full price for it. I'd have said 3.5 for food and drink. My cocktail (Mojito) was quite bitter, not sure how long the staff have been making them. Service, staff were really nice but our first waitress hadn't tried any food (and hadn't asked others what was popular) and we were left sitting and waiting for some time. I wonder if they were fairly new and weren't as observant as they thought they might have been, the effort was there if say more of a knowledge gap. Also noticed it had said online that they offer GF options but that was very unclear on the menu. Front desk, the girl was lovely. Stored my bags and helped us sort parking which made it so much easier! Overall the furtniture, set up and the atmosphere was really, really nice. From the cacso tea and brownies at the front door through to the fire and lavish seating before heading into the restaurant. I hope the rooms are as nice!
Lovely service and lovely dinner , we went to celebrate our bday and couldn’t ask for more , the service was outstanding.
