Cable Top Eatery - Wellington

I visited this restaurant for breakfast and the setting is fantastic, located right above the cable line. The staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon, and it was exceptional—the salmon was truly outstanding.

I enjoyed their delicious NZ green-lipped mussels, steamed in cream and Sauvignon with Italian parsley, served with buttered sea salt focaccia for $25.50. The kids opted for a Mozzarella pizza for $12.50 and fried chicken with chips for $12.50 from the kids’ menu, plus they each had a kid-sized Carrello gelato for $5 to finish off. There was plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors, and the view overlooking the city was simply amazing. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience for both me and the children!

Great food, Terrific service and fantastic views. You can catch the cable car up, have lunch and walk back. There are two museums a perfumery and the cable car museum up top and a botanic garden

Recently returned from a holiday in New Zealand and took a cable car to view the beautiful gardens and on the way back we saw this restaurant as we were so hungry and decided to try it. I am so glad we did!!! I ordered the scotch fillett and asked for it to be gluten free with a cappuccino to be lactose free. The waiters/waitresses are all very lovely and ever so helpful. When the meal came out I was flabbergasted. It looked absolutely amazing. It was decorated with the most colourful and beautiful edible flowers and when I cut into it, it was like butter! The most tender and delicious steak I have ever had and it was on a stack of vegetables with roast potatoes and mushrooms. Compliments to the Chef! It was absolutely delightful! And the price was only $28.00 AMAZING!!! THIS REVIEW IS THE LEAST I COULD DO. Thank you so very much for making my trip more memorable. If I ever come back to New Zealand I will make sure I come and eat at your wonderful restaurant. Thanks again
