Hi-lo Café - Weed

Huge portions and good food. Service was slow because it was crowded (only space in town for dinner) and only a few participants. Coffee was good. Had the reuben sandwich and 12 ounces of burgers. Friends were okay. Friendly service.

Great food. I had breakfast. Hubby had lunch. Omelette was a typical diner fair. He had Kointry fried steak. He loved it. But what you need is the Shakes. Fantastic and reminder of 50s quality and plentiful sample!! I'll be back.

Every time I travel through this city, I'm going here and it's usually pretty good. Although I noticed the last few times that things have changed. I think the waiters had a hard night. I noticed it was a poorly managed kitchen, communication was not good and wires were crossed. They were so weak that they didn't even greet us for 20 minutes. Then after another 20 minutes just sit there and finally request service, we ordered and immediately after we had ordered, they had to take a break for 40 minutes. Luckily, they put our food in, but they kept waiting for other people. I watched how many people go. When we finally got our food, the meat was green and we were afraid to eat it. The food wasn't very good. I think this place would be great if they had a better administration, but it does? I know restaurant life can be hard, but I think it would be a shame if this restaurant lost its reputation due to bad administration. I hope they get their groove back.

I was pretty excited to try this place after reading some great reviews I knew it was a diner but lots of reviews mentioned the food was great and above average. Let me start by saying the staff was great! The waitress said she was down a cook and waitress but despite that the staff was friendly and outgoing. The food however was so so. The top of the menu said they serve large portions and breakfast served with potatoes or hash browns. I really wanted potatoes so that was great. I ordered pancakes and asked if it came with potatoes and she said no. OK..... Well maybe the top of the menu should specify what breakfast comes with potatoes. The hash browns were pale and slightly undercooked. The pancakes were OK but nothing special. Overall I'd say the food was slightly subpar than IHOP or Dennys. This absolutely could be because of staff shortages but still it was a let down of a visit.

This is what a Cafe should be. Great staff excellent food, with great portions. My family and I have had Prime rib dinner on Friday's, triple decker sandwiches for lunch, and biscuits and gravy like your grandma makes. Best place that has something for everyone in Weed.
