Monica is a delight and always makes a point to come out of the kitchen to check in on all the customers. I have great admiration for her staff and the menu. The homemade linguini with marinara is simply amazing—it's to die for! We love dining here and are happy to support Monica! This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants!
There were eight of us, so we tried a variety of dishes. The Pasta Carbonara and Caesar salad were both excellent. Others in our group ordered chicken parmesan and eggplant, which they also enjoyed. The tomato basil soup and minestrone were fantastic as well. The garlic bread was good, and I believe it came with the meal. The service was friendly throughout the evening. We enjoyed everything until it was time to settle the bill. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up where charges were applied twice and attributed to the wrong people. It turned into a real hassle, taking an incredibly long time to sort out. That was the only significant downside to our experience.
In my humble opinion this is the best restaurant in town. Everything tastes fresh BECAUSE IT IS! The staff are always so nice and what I really respect is Monica herself on the floor. Nothing feels more authentic and local than this place.I took my visiting friends here and they loved it! And, thank you to the waiter who gave very detailed instructions on reheating the Trevis.
The waitstaff quickly took our drink orders, and we decided to share a couple of appetizers. I chose the prosciutto and rosemary flatbread, while my wife opted for the bruschetta with mushrooms. The flatbread was decent, but I was hoping for a stronger rosemary flavor and for it to be toasted. I did enjoy the prosciutto, which came with kalamata olives and a bit of artichoke. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the bruschetta; it consisted of a pasty mix of finely chopped mushrooms and some kind of pesto spread on bread, and the flavors didn’t work for me. For the main course, I ordered chicken parmesan with linguine and marinara, and my wife had chicken ravioli with the aforementioned mushrooms added to the alfredo sauce. My chicken parmesan was rubbery—likely due to being microwaved—and lacked flavor, probably because it was a frozen dish heated up to order. The pasta was cooked well, but the marinara sauce was excessively sweet, which really turned me off. On the other hand, the chicken ravioli was tasty, and the added mushrooms complemented the dish nicely. Overall, while the prices were reasonable, I'm not convinced we got our money's worth. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to return.
Wife and I split a meal here. Caeser salad was big and delicious and the bread was outstanding too but we were surprised that you had to pay separate for both items as they would normally be included. Actual food was not good. Portion was small, too. Disappointing. If we go again, we'll get the pizza.
