Osaka Iii - Waynesboro

The food at this restaurant is consistently fresh and tasty. Over the years we've been here, they have never disappointed me. After living in Southern California for 10 years, I never imagined I would enjoy sushi as good as this in Waynesboro.

I've dined here many times, and it's one of our favorites. My husband lived in NYC for 10 years and seldom eats sushi in Central Virginia, but we both adore this place. The sashimi is consistently excellent, and the soft shell crab roll was fantastic. Most of the other rolls have historically been wonderful as well. However, we were disappointed to discover that the "crab" in one of our rolls turned out to be imitation crab meat. We understand that some people are okay with this, but we believe the menu should specify if it's not real crab.

I ordered from this restaurant for the first time today. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place appeared clean from what I could see. However, the food was overpriced for its lack of flavor. The shumai was excellent, but the hibachi fell flat. The rice lacked taste, and the chicken was also bland. The yum yum sauce didn’t live up to its name. It wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t good either. Overall, this restaurant is just okay for mediocre, overpriced Japanese food.

The picture for Egg Fried Rice looks like egg custards and is very misleading. Sushi was great though!

Sushi was $22 and very underwhelming. Steak Dinner Hibachi New York Strip Steak was expensive and the beef was very dry and not a lot of food.
