My husband, mother, and I had a wonderful two-night stay at this restaurant. We came to visit the place where my grandmother had lived and worked in the 1940s, and we were not disappointed. We were fortunate to be able to check in early and find a parking space for our car. The staff were all exceptional, very friendly and helpful. The food and cocktails were delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and we would definitely come back and recommend it to others. I only gave 4 stars for sleep because the bed in the room I booked was too small for the two of us.

My visit to this attractive venue led me to believe that the service would be excellent. Unfortunately, I was proven wrong by a senior staff member. When I placed a simple order for four drinks, the glasses were broken and there was a 15-minute wait for the last drink. It seemed as though we were an inconvenience to the assistant manager, who was more concerned about serving the table next to us, even though they had received the wrong tea order. When we tried to rectify the situation and change the outstanding drink order due to the long wait, we were charged the full price. While I understand that pubs may be struggling, treating customers poorly is not the way to improve business. There was also a lack of a warm welcome, and when I tried to engage in conversation, I received a dismissive response. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and I will not be recommending this establishment to my social circle, friends, or family. I am sorry to say.

After a delightful Sunday afternoon exploring Godalming, we decided it was time for a traditional Sunday lunch. Despite arriving late, we placed our hopes on the Kings Arms to serve us a late lunch. Thankfully, we were not disappointed. As soon as we entered, Ell ensured we felt warmly welcomed and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The roast beef lunch was everything one could hope for in an English Sunday lunch - perfectly cooked and a great match for our Rioja. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant for its delicious food, friendly staff, and exceptional service. 7 of us visited today for Sunday lunch although the staff worked hard they were clearly short staffed . The wait for each course was way too long . We had to ask for condiments for the table and when they came the salt was empty. We have had lunch here before which was excellent but not this time I’m afraid . I had the roast beef but it was a bit dry and not pink as I like it . My husband had the pork which was advertised as pork loin on the menu but it was actually pork belly . We do love this place so we hope the criticism is constructive and they can improve
