Michael's Supper Club - Wausau

Great place to host a large group for a nice dinner. I plan over 100 dinners of 30 plus people a year and have never seen that every steak cooked perfectly and come out at the same time. I wish I had one of them in all the cities I visited.

One of my all time faves in the area. However last night l ordered the crab cakes which were pretty tasteless and the mustard sauce that came with them was strong and overpowering. For me shellfish and mustard don't belong on the same plate. The lobster bisque which tastes great was luke warm. Their specials which are chalked up by the entrance and then recited by the waitperson are often long-winded and complicated......a good idea might be to type them up then print off a few copies so patrons could actually look leisurely at them. Ambience and service were what l would expect. This was my experience last night. Will l be going back?... of course.

Had outrageous waits for everything from drinks, to our check, to getting our change, getting appetizers, getting our food. I understand that this is a sit down restaurant but there is no reason I should spend over two hours of waiting on everything. Not to mention the fish fry was soggy and bland. Over all I think the food is over priced and most definitely over rated. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Fantastic food, great service, nice atmosphere. The prices are higher than most in the area but the food delivers. The only negative experience was the timing, as the bar opens at 4pm but the dining room not until 5, which is not advertised. However my waiter did come to the bar, take my order, and come back to bring me to the table when my appetizers we're ready. Overall great experience.

Service was amazing. Primo made excellent recommendations, always awaiting our needs as a table, and was wonderfully personal. The food was delicious. I enjoyed my perfectly delicate prime rib and lobster bisque. The shrimp box was also a favourite at the table. Would definitely recommend and plan to return.
