Bushies Bakery - Wattle Bank

One of the best bakeries around. People travel from far and wide. This bakery always satisfies my hunger. Pies are award winning and tasty.

If your feeling like pastry type food you have to get in here, countless number of different recipe pies, pasties, sausage rolls and the like and there yum yum yum, coffee's too are available. A great local business the people from other towns talk about.

Rural bakeries that claim award winning pies are a dime a dozen, or so to speak. Dropped in to this bakery to try legendary hot cross buns... we were an hour too late at 11.45 as they were soooo good they'd sold out. Not to waste a drive, we decided an early lunch was in order when confronted with an interesting pie menu. We were delighted with the tasty, home cooked and flavoursome fillings. The meat, yes real meat, fell apart in your mouth. A sweet treat to follow surprised, with thinner than usual pastry cases for lemon tarts and delicious apple custard tarts.

This has to be one of the best bakery's around, you walk in and it smells how the bakery's used to back in the day and the variety is amazing.Pies are delicious and pastry flakey, would defiantly recommend stopping in there to grab a pie!

Today we ventured out to Glengarry to have lunch at Bushies, had not eaten there before but had heard good reports about their pies and happily the reports are spot on . What more can one say , SCRUMPTIOUS, they would have to be the best pies I have had anywhere. We had the Stockmans Pie, Steak and Curry and Steak and Mushroom.We all agreed the pastry was lovely and the flavours were mouth watering..They are a good size pie and lovely and hot.There are a great selection of different pies and lovely looking cakes to Choose from if you are still peckish after your pie .I just had to have one of the coconut macaroons, again a generous size and beautifull .The place is in the Main Street of this nice little country town and while we were there people were in and out all the time , this place has built up a great reputation and has won many awards which are on display.We sat outside on the great timber furniture under the umbrellas for shade. A great place to spend an hour or so eating the best pies . We will be back for sure .
