Would definitely recommend for a stopover on a long drive or even as a spot to stay while exploring the nearby Watkins Glen State Park which is just a minute away.Rooms: 5/5
Seneca lodge is an excellent place to stay on a budget in Watkins Glen. Their rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. We’ve stayed here multiple years in a row. It’s located just outside of the center strip of Watkins Glen and very close to the Watkins Glen State Park and Watkins Glen International race track. They’ve got a cozy restaurant with good food and a great local beer selection! Friendly staff! We love coming back here year after year! Some room types are pet friendly!Rooms: Rooms are clean and spacious. They are not luxury but have all your basic amenities like AC, TV, regular sized bathroom and wifi.Nearby activities: Within 10 minutes or less you have access to: (1) Watkins Glen State Park for a beautiful hiking trail area, (2) downtown Watkins Glen with all that has to offer (shops, restaurants, ice cream spots, etc., (3) Lake Seneca, (4) Watkins Glen International for motor sports.Walkability: It’s close to town and Watkins Glen State Park and you could walk to town but there’s no designated sidewalk and it’s a bit of a hill. A quick 3 minute drive is preferable!Food drinks: Full service restaurant with good and varied food menu. Local beers and other drinks are available as well.
Nice place to relax and enjoy dinner, either inside or outdoor patio. Also has a decent bar.Have never rented any rooms/cottages there.
Not upscale and luxurious but this place is delightful. We stayed in the Lodge itself and were very comfortable. Room is very basic with bed, small desk and table lamp, two chairs, bedside table, overhead lights. Bathroom was excellent, apparently not orginal and was modern, sparkling, well-lighted and vented. Great shower and water pressure and superior towels (wish we could buy them! . AC worked very well and has a remote which was a nice touch. A dozen basic network tv channels but not a priority for us. The entire encampment is rustic, old-fashioned, friendly, comfortable. Every site has outdoor chairs and most folks were outside in the evenings. It felt like a friendly neighborhood. Jackie was very friendly and welcoming during direct phone reservation process and check in. We felt like welcome guests. Options include newer motel-style buildings and two A-frames. We liked the Lodge and will be happy to stay again.
We had a nice experience with drinks in the bar and then moved out to the patio for dinner. Service was good but the London Broil was inedible due to it being so salty. Others had calamari which was good. The fries are very good. The salad bar is very good.
