The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, maybe 8 tables and us, yet we still waited almost 20 minutes before the food came out. (You sort out the drinks yourself) The food was literally dropped on the table and went to leave. My partner asked if he could have sauce and a couple of sachets were almost thrown at him. The porridge had no honey, so I asked the staff member who said it was already in the bowl. It wasn’t, so I went to the counter and asked for it. The man didn’t even know where the honey was kept. When I got back to the table my partner was eating his poached eggs. They were so overdone it looked like they had put hard boiled eggs minus the shells on his toast. It was obviously understaffed but surely anyone can poach a couple of eggs? The whole point of the self service is that you sit down and your meal is brought to you. Great in theory terrible in practice.
This was a last minute thing. As we were staying at the Premier Inn went here for our breakfast. Friendly staff but have to say the breakfast was warmish. Not hot at all, the reastaurant was not busy so could not understand they could have taken their time with the food.
Touch screen booking system is very slow. Options take too long to edit- then it asks for a table number which is a pain because the console is outside the entrance. Food is ok but can be cold. Busy times mean messy tables.
Staff were rude and very unhelpful. Visited when was not busy. Went to pay for coffees and cake. Staff refused to let me pay. Kept telling me to place order on screen. But i was trying to pay not order. Waited for 10 mins, tgen im afraid i walked out.
I and a friend have been eating at Watford Morrisons Cafe every Friday for several years and have always been very satisfied with the menu and quality of food. But since the new menu was introduced some months ago the experience has declined significantly. Gone are the old favourites like sausages with chips and beans, scampi, hunters chicken etc. You now have to place your order via a computer terminal the first question is table number so you leave the terminal to wander into the seating area to find an empty table then return to the terminal to find someone else is placing their order. Having spent ages trying to enter your order, you go to the table you entered on the terminal only to find someone else sitting there. Service is slow and food prices have increased compared with the previous menu. No longer an enjoyable experience!
