Friede's - Watertown

First visit to Friede's! Great food and really friendly service. Loved the cook, Bill, until he made us do dishes! House rule you don't finish your plate, you gotta do dishes!

What great experience! Wonderful NY diner with great coffee, service and food. We had breakfast with the locals. Will definitely return if we are back this way.

I was very surprised how busy this tiny restaurant was! We got the last available booth, and there were maybe three empty stools at the counter. This is obviously a favorite with the locals (mostly older folks). I ordered an omelette with ham, cheese and mushrooms. I'm not sure what kind of cheese they used. I was expecting cheddar, but it was a kind of mild white cheese. Very pleasant on the palate! It came with toast, which was a little too crispyfor my liking. My dining partner ordered French toast with a side of eggsand sausage patties. The French toast was thick, obviously made with homemade bread, and dusted with powdered sugar. Everything was so good, resonably priced and service was super friendly.

Stopped here on the way to a concert in Syracuse. Good food, nice service, reasonable prices. Three stars because the coffee was *not* good. Like brown crayon dipped in hot water flavor. What a pity it was watery and weak. Surely someone (a local ? must have said something to them by now about it ! So if you go, have the food but steer clear of the java and it 's a great little spot. I 'd definitely go again and/or recommend to friends just skip the coffee.

Just left this place and we will be back. Very clean,great food and plenty of it. Waitress and cook were very friendly. Food came fast also,they made us feel like regulars Price is right too.
