The whipped ricotta with dates, honey, and roasted brussels sprouts was a hit (served with crunchy toast that wasn't overly toasted). The mac and cheese was good be careful... it comes out super hot, so don't burn your mouth. The fried chicken sliders were fantastic we've had these before and definitely wanted more the sandwiches were substantial enough to satisfy without being so big that you didn't want to try any other dishes. Service was very friendly. We were seated in the corner, so it was a bit hard to catch anyone's eye sometimes, but we weren't in a rush, so it wasn't a big deal. Tip: don't sit up front if it is cold out. There will be lots of drafty moments whenever anyone opens the front door.
I can not believe how disappointed a was. I had been dying to try out his place after seeing the cookbook on Amazon. The atmosphere was ok, but the music was so loud my friend couldn’t hear me. I made a brunch reservation more than four days ahead of time. I arrived on time and my party was promptly seated…. In front of the entrance!!! Ok, fine. The waiter Connor I believe, approached the table and tools our drink order. We waited more than five minutes but, okay it was busy. We placed our order and were informed that the food is brought out when it is ready, not in a coordinated fashion so that we could all eat at the same time. We were also told that it was ‘tapas’ style so we should order for the table. Ok, I’m game, sounds good. The food arrived and might I say, I was underwhelming at best. My friend ordered two over easy eggs, home fries and bacon. They brought individual plates for each item making everything look like an afterthought. I ordered the goat cheese hash with eggs, and received a mini fry pan (think apple crisp serving fan) with has browns, maybe 1/2 scrambled eggs, sauce and peppers. The taste was good but it was a children’s portion and not worth $15. After the waiter dropped off our food, he didnt come back to the table until we waved him over. We did that several times. Ok, so beignets. I don’t know where they got the picture on the website, but what we received looked like burnt moose skat with a side of dipping sauce. I’ve never had one before, and frankly am not interested in trying them again. They were burned outside and doughy inside, how is that possible. Anyway, I would skip it. The bill was just under $100 and we left disappointed and $100 poorer.
I'd characterize this restaurant as trendy and the food not very good. Find better chefs, improve the variety of offerings and select better wines only one Rose and it was sprakling.
Went for birthday brunch for a friend, and we shared lots of dishes including biscuits, nachos, beignets, french toast, and more. It was all so delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Second time visiting this Buttermilk Bourbon location, and the food was incredible both times. Truly the best, most unique calamari I have ever had. Whipped ricotta, Brussels sprouts, and fried chicken were also delicious. Service is always good. Lively atmosphere, even on weeknights. Definitely will be coming back!
