Veritas Cafe - Waterloo

I stayed there for three hours in the morning nursing two fair trade coffees, so would have to say it's a place that makes you feel welcome even if you're not a big spender. Then I ordered a delicious soup with a chicken-mango panini that staff had come into work at 7:00 in the morning to make fresh from scratch that day. Then I was in a celebrating mood because my wife just passed a big exam, went up to the bar to order a glass of wine, was told to line up over at the cash register, went to sit down until the line got smaller, and the manager came up with a glass of wine and said I should pay when I finished. Every campus should have a cafe like this, run by students, committed to healthy and tasty food and to making people feel welcome, no matter how much they spend. There were people outside playing fiddles, guitars and signing, and I can only imagine what it's like in spring and summer when the outdoor cafe opens.

Veritas Cafe, situated at the center of Wilfrid Laurier University's campus, offers students a much-needed off-campus experience.

This is my top choice for dining on campus! They have a variety of freshly made paninis, wraps, and salads on their menu.

This restaurant is a wonderful spot to enjoy a cup of coffee, relax, and maybe even get some work done on your computer.
