If you are looking for high tea in the Dundas/Hamilton area you are somehow limited and unfortunately this is one of your options. I took my grammar here yesterday and we were both so disappointed. The quality of the food was kind of a joke. The sandwiches were very boring and economical- nothing sweet, nothing delicious or unique. The rumors were like rocks that were blown with white sugar. However, they served real Devonshire cream, which was a plus, but the jam was made of a glass. The worst part of the $40!!! The food animal was pitiful? Desserts? the cookies and chocolates were from Dollarama- the fruit was a joke and the mini cupcake and cheesecake were definitely from a shop / nothing at home?! The tea selection was good and honest our waitress was so beautiful and nice to talk to her who saved the day. I'd come back to talk to her! The high tea was not worth $100 for both of us.
7 of us were here to celebrate a coming wedding and were greeted and treated by all staff with open arms. The owner forgives me that their name was forgotten, came to our table and imagined and also came by when we were gone. We thank her for the fabulous service and fabulous food. Such fresh, tasty and beautifully refined sandwiches, scones to die for and dessert goodies. A new menu item was a chicken apple salad on a fluffy 'tart' that was a hit with our table. We all with dog bags and would recommend an afternoon in this beautiful Tea House
On the other day I had the pleasure of sharing tea with friends at the Tea House. That was my first visit to the Tea House. I had a nice time to enjoy a sample of very fresh sandwiches and scenes so delicious!!! . The staff was attentive and friendly. The ambiance queen and the table position beautiful. An outdoor terrace is also available, so I am happy to sit outside on my next visit. I will keep an eye on this beautiful place if I ever need a place for any kind of family celebration! Very friendly and accommodating facility! Thank you for a very nice, afternoon tea experience!
Dirty dishes. Spoons. Micro-aggressions. Terrible service, not worth the ride. Would never visit this place. We visited a Sunday weekend for their opening date. Katherine was my server she was terrible. Rude dismissive, condescending, she didn't give me time to get my own tea, she chose it for me! She was hostile, she came over and over again and said we had to hurry. She was clearly biased. She did not spend time explaining the menu, but spent time chatting and socializing with other tables. I had better tea experiences in Ontario and that's not? I wait to talk to their management and will update with photos (of dirty cutlery and dishes)? I don't want anyone to waste their money here. Until then, here is picture of the $40 animal we have with food and old fruits. That was not worth our $200 bill for 4 people.
Today bring Mothers Day we got to experience the Waterdown Tea House. We enjoyed every bit of our Mothers Day tea. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted. The selection of teas were fabulous....so many choices. The cranberry chicken salad with apples was my absolute favourite. The Scones with cream and jam....so crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Staff were attentive and friendly! It truly was a wonderful experience for both my mom and my daughter's first Mothers Day tea! Thank you for making the day so special and for all your hard work.
