Utensils forgotten to bring to table, sauce forgotten to put on steak, cold plates, no parmesan chees on salad, was a powder of some kind. Steaks were below par and certainly not worth the money they are charging, We were the only ones in the restaurant that night and they could get nothing right. The steaks were not cooked properly. I could go on, My family have been going to this restaurant for years but it certainly has gone down hill, unfortunately to say while its like this we wont be back. It really was a horrible experience and truly disappointing for a family night out. by the way there is no menu on their website nor on the online ordering, why? and their answering machine cuts you off. We have sent a personal review direct to the restaurant.
When I heard our group was going to Lord Byron steak house I was excited to have a great steak. I ordered the 12 oz Rib Eye, my favourite steak, and asked that it be cooked Medium Rare. Medium rare should be reddish/pink inside. I also ordered what was listed on the menu as a side dish of sautéed mushrooms. When my meal was delivered the steak was covered in a mushroom sauce and it was cooked more like medium well. There was no pink inside and was not very tender. This is not your run of the mill chain restaurant, and is actually named a steak house , which to me would indicate they specialize in steaks! I was there with a group and did not want to make a scene, but definitely felt disappointed with my over priced $50 steak. My expectation of having a great steak was quickly deflated. Won 't be returning.
This is my first ever negative review on TripAdvisor. I 'm generally of the view of if you don 't have something positive to say, don 't say anything , particularly if it happens to be about a local/small business. However... I wish I had read the Lord Byron misses the mark review before we booked for our anniversary. The food was (at best) mediocre, with the one exception of the steak my husband ordered, which he pronounced excellent. Everything else was nowhere near the quality expected for the prices charged. This in and of itself is the main reason I decided to write this review. It is an expensive mistake to make, dining here. Furthermore, the decor is lovely, but detracting from the experience was the jarring Disco music. My husband asked if they would please switch it to something more relaxing (we were at the time the only customers) and they took an inexplicably long time to oblige, to the point where we were wondering if they just wouldn 't.
We were a party of three. We were greeted by the owner, who cited in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner. The prime rib, fillet, and New York steak were perfectly done, accompanied by delicious roast vegetables (asparagus, carrots, red and green peppers) and a choice of potatoes. The shrimp cocktails and the Caesar salad were excellent starters. The music and the soft lighting were exceptional, contributing to the ambiance. We had a great time and the hospitality and food were superb!!! Thank you for making the special event we were celebrating so memorable!
First visit to this family owned steakhouse! Peter and his family where very attentive and made us feel like family: we ordered filet mignon and salmon and I have to say it was the best we had ever had!!!! We definitely can’t wait to return soon!!!!!!! Thank u Peter for our memorable evening!!
