My favorite lunch place when I visit town, and don’t forget the books!
Our family visited the store today with our three young children. I was astonished at the kindness and patience that the staff gave our young family. They doted on the children and were full of smiles and good cheer. They even helped me by bringing the books to my car! It was such a pleasant experience. This gem of a bookstore will be a place that our family will return to often. Thank you, so much.

A great selection of reasonably priced books, helpful and friendly staff, and good food. This is a great spot to grab lunch or tea in with friends or pick up a new book. With a wonderful atmosphere, John Bale has been my favorite part of Waterbury since I first visited 6 years ago.
