I had a special request on Valentines Day someone at a hotel took notes and promised to relay to Cherry. Was supposed to be executed with deserts, but didn't happen. Still had a good time though.
Today was my first, but not my last, visit to Pinea. The view of the Washington Monument was lovely and the staff could not have been more attentive. The salad was fresh and presented beautifully with the just the right amount of a light dressing to enhance, but not mask the taste of the greens. The mushroom risotto was exquisite creamy, flavorful and rich. Not exactly for those on a diet, but what a way to gain a pound. I'll be back.
We had lunch here while walking around the monuments. It is very close to the White House. The mussels were perfect, and a huge serving! Our waitress was great. They were seeing up a wrestling ring on the patio while we ate. WRESTLING at the restaurant seems pretty strange. I didn't stay to watch, maybe it was really fun? I don't know?
The restaurant's location is wonderful. We ordered a three-course meal. I began with the tuna, which was incredibly tasty. However, the main dish, a grain bowl, was underwhelming, as was the dessert. It was an average experience overall, although I found the coffee to be a bit pricey.
