Matchbox Penn Quarter

I had a very enjoyable and relaxed dining experience at this restaurant. The casual atmosphere was welcoming, especially after a hot day in the city.

The brined chicken was amazing flavor was great! Our waitress was very attentive.

We had made a reservation that was confirmed multiple times via text. Upon arriving and being seated, we were informed that they were out of pizza. We had hungry children with us and the thought of finding another restaurant seemed inconvenient. They should have notified guests with reservations about the broken pizza oven earlier in the day, and the hostess should have mentioned it before seating us. We observed other parties come in, only to leave their tables and walk out.

Food was excellent and the service was prompt and friendly. There was no waiting for my reservation.

My friend and I were in Washington, DC for TEDxMidAtlantic at the Shakespeare Festival and needed to grab a quick lunch during the break. We were seated quickly, ordered quickly, served quickly, and received the check promptly. The food was also good. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad with a Diet Coke and it was delicious. The chicken was especially tasty. My friend ordered something from the brunch menu (since we were there on a Saturday) and he loved it. I would definitely return to this restaurant.
