They also have a small but yummy food menu with breakfast (sandwiches, etc), lunch favorites, and a few salads. Employees are friendly and the space is mellow and good for working. WiFi works.
When I got to DC to join my dad for a weekend and see my brother, my dad kept raving about his favorite place for coffee: Bourbon Coffee. Although he usually goes to the other location and it was closed, I was so happy when I saw that this location was open. Mind you that my dad usually only drinks black coffee, he told me how Bourbon Coffee is the only time he splurges on coffee, and I knew since he hardly spends anything in coffee it must be special. And boy was he right. If you didn 't know there are only four locations of Bourbon Coffee (with a fifth coming soon according to their website). I stopped in at the Capitol Hill location before I had to catch the Metro to DCA to head back to Chicago. When I got there, it didn 't seem like much was going on but when I entered the shop I noticed how many people were inside. Every seat that was in the establishment was taken with people reading books or doing work on their laptop while enjoying some coffee of course. I ordered the 'Honey Cinnamon Latte ' and when the barista handed it to me for me to put a lid on it I could smell the cinnamon that was in it and when I tasted it I could get the distinct taste of both the sweetness of the honey (not overpowering) the spice of Cinnamon that was in the coffee as well. I like to believe I am a coffee critic since I 've been drinking coffee for a long time now, but I would categorize this coffee as some of the best I have experienced. The coffee is comparable to Wormhole Coffee back in Chicago (which is a great compliment). The location of this coffee shop was well picked out you 're by the capitol which is great if you have a lot of time and can tour around. However, I had to head back to the airport to go home to Chicago and there was a Metro station less than a block away (Eastern Market Metro). If you ever are wandering around DC, this is especially a place to pop into for a quick coffee to go or enjoy in shop. I defiantly understood why my dad splurges on coffee at Bourbon Coffee now.
Really cute coffee place with the main entrance, a hallway with tables, and a sunny room at the end of that. The Mexican Hot chocolate is spicy and delicious! And they have wifi.
Good place for coffee. I came in today, a Saturday, and was able to have a nice cappuccino. Luckily there was plenty of seating. Which can be rather difficult to find on a Saturday. The staff is very friendly and made the coffee in a short amount of time. The coffee quality was rather good, but the milk could've been a little warmer. The cappuccino is naturally a little sweet, so there is little need for sugar added. Nice environment and clean facility
A coffee spot with a good purpose. The menu boasts high quality coffee from Rwanda as well as a large selection of crafty hot and cold drinks. This particular location is my favorite the cafe is longer than it is wide, and there is a variety of seating. The back area is a covered patio with tables and sofas, with an additional outdoor seating option. The cafe is quaint and charming, well fitted for the Capitol Hill/Eastern Market neighborhood. My go to is their hot lemon drink..
