Lavandou - Washington

I made a reservation with the owner for my birthday celebration with 15 people last weekend. She agreed to waive the cake fee as long as we ordered appetizers. Our party size increased a few hours before, but that wasn't an issue. However, shortly after we placed our orders, a manager named Philippe pulled me aside to let me know that a $50 cake fee would still apply because we hadn't ordered enough appetizers. I pointed out that we had ordered several extra entrees and drinks, which cost significantly more than a few additional $9 appetizers, but he insisted that singing and cake would not be allowed without the charge. Everyone was shocked, and the birthday dinner was completely ruined. In today’s economy, any business should realize that upsetting 18 people (and all their acquaintances) isn't worth the couple of hundred dollars lost over a birthday cake. Goodbye, Lavandou!
