Firehook - Washington

Big selections of desserts and drinks. I was only able to order a slice of one type of cake (white chocolate). Good space to get some work done, and the service staff is outstanding.

I had a little extra time and stumbled upon this quaint little bakery. What a find! The food was fantastic. The atmosphere is fun and bright. Being this close to the capital the conversations around me where incredibly interesting. This is a great place to get a bite and rest.

It might not look very big, but when you walk towards the restrooms you'll see a lot more seating towards the back. There are also a few tables outside too. I was out being a tourist and desperately needed some coffee. This was the first location that we spotted even though we were looking for a Starbucks. It was the crowd that was drawing me into this place. I wasn't particularly a fan of the iced coffee, as it was weak. However, it did its job. I wanted a little sugar and got one of their chocolate brownies. Brownie was very good and super rich and not too sweet. Very big piece of brownie too. Like diabetes BIG.... Staff were friendly. Prices are average for coffee shops even though it's located super close to all of the political buildings.

Loved this trendy bakery/cafe. We stopped in for lunch on a whim and had sandwiches and coffee. Service was friendly and food was great. Would definitely go back.

We went back a second morning in a row on our weekend trip to D.C. their sandwiches are so big you can share with your spouse. And what really brought us back was the friendly staff. A friendly, caring staff really makes the difference in the atmosphere of a place!! Good job Firehook.
