Bread Chocolate - Washington

This place used to smell like a French bakery with the best croissants and pastry. I guess the effect of COVID-19 got to it, it is no longer the same, hope it recovers soon.

We purchased a hot chocolate and a pistachio neapolitan which we shared to mixed reviews, one of us thought it was very good and the other, just OK.

I stopped by Bread and Chocolate to purchase a pastry. I was told by a colleague that the pantries were phenomenal. I purchased a rather pricey cannoli. It looked like any other cannoli. The sweet delicious creamy cheese on both ends. I couldn't wait to bite into it. Qnce I bite into it, it crumbled in the center. I was amazed to find a hollowed center. They only added a small dollop of the sweet cheese filling on both ends of the cannoli, but absolutely no filling in the center. I paid nearly $7.00 for a shell. The best part of a cannoli in my opinion is the sweet cream cheese. I was totally disappointed, and will never purchase a pastry from this establishment again.

Seven bucks for a red eye ?. Four for the (burnt) coffee and 3 for a shot of espresso. Spare me. Further, the 16 dollar chicken sandwich was thoroughly mediocre. Very polite and attentive wait staff though.

Came here with my mom great because we found parking in back and came through the back door.Always bustling atmosphere and great for chai lattes : Our waitress was very kind and service was wonderful.I had a lamb gyro yummm. It comes with chips or a salad. It's quite filling. My mom and I split a cheese danish because a treat is always nice. Quite good! The desserts are soo tempting up front... one day I shall get a cake!!! :
