This place is a GEM! The food— amazing, the staff—SENSATIONAL, the atmosphere—causal but comfy… oh and did I mention… THE FOOD IS SO GOOD MY MOUTH IS STILL WATERING! Literally leaving this review still seated at my table because I was so moved. If I could leave 20 stars I would.

Great experience! the food was divine and an amazing price for the quantity. the staff was friendly funny. if you have the opportunity to visit, DO IT!

I lived in Asmara 15 years ago and maintain a discerning appreciation for the food and culture. I respected both. This place has a great mix of people and food. Loved the music, videos playing of Asmara, those that eat here, and of course the food. Grateful this team is showcasing their culture and food in DC! I will hopefully visit again.

Chicken spaghetti is my new regular when I'm around U Street
