So far all of the pizza that I have tried has been disappointing at best except for a few deli style places in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs. I 'd have to rate the pizza as 5/5. It is up until this point the best NY style pizza in DC. My five star rating only reflects the food, however. Unfortunately, the service on my first experience was less than par, likely 0/5. I ordered online (through eat24) and my pizza arrived in about 35 minutes. I got a phone call from the driver at 1:00 AM, but my phone didn 't ring. Instead I got a voicemail. I called back at 1:02 AM and the drive had already left. I had to pull his teeth out to get him to come back begrudgingly and with a sigh. I was confused as how he could have come by and not have knocked on the door. He came back at 1:05 and I think I figured out why he came and left without a whisper. I went downstairs after he called saying he was here, and he was still in his car. He never got out of the car and if he had gotten out of the car after the first trip, he could have rung the doorbell and gotten my attention. Of course it was raining, so I went outside and picked up my DELIVERY pizza from his car. I took the pizza and thanked him. As I was heading back to my home, he says 'that 's it? ' I said, 'excuse me? ' He goes on to say, 'where is the tip? ' I told him I left it on the credit card and he has the nerve to say, 'but I came twice. ' That pretty much sums up the poor service from the delivery man. Thankfully, I spoke to eat24 about my experience. The representative I spoke to told my story to the store manager immediately, who was upset and apologetic about my experience. They issued me a refund for my poor service. Hopefully that was just an anomaly or a terrible delivery driver. As long as the pizza is still good, I will continue to order from Al Capuccino 's.
Not bad pizza
