Barcelos Restaurant - Wasaga Beach

Be careful here. I asked about a menu item, the server checked with the kitchen and they said it was gluten free. I had a reaction within an hour of consuming. I won’t go back.

My friend and I were looking for a place to have some lunch. We were driving around and saw the sign for this place! I love trying new places and I'm so glad we found this hidden gem!! The food is superb!!!!! The staff amazingly friendly! I'll be going here every time I go too Wasaga!!!!! Best hidden gem ever!! It's a must!! Don't miss the opportunity too try this place!! Best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had!!!

Super steak, absolutely recommended. friendly reception, nice service, great weine. appetizer and dessert also very good.

We recently moved to Wasaga Beach and were looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion. We've driven past this restaurant many times but never stopped to take a look or at the menu. When we finally stopped by we found the menu excellent and the staff so friendly we booked a birthday. When we arrived the restaurant was busy, a good sign, and we were able to get a table on the rustic patio. Entertainer David Stone was playing guitar and this only added to the ambience of this awesome evenjng. Our server went above and beyond to make us feel at home on our first visit and then came the food. We selected an excellent and hard to find bottle of red wine and started with a tradition bruschetta which was fantastic. Since Barcelos is famous for serving their steaks on a 500 degree piece of granite we had to try it. My wife and I both agree that these were one of the best steaks we have ever had...absolutely amazing! Served with asparagus and a sliced roasted potatoes it could not have been more perfect. The owner Nelson stopped by our table and only confirmed what a friendly amazing place this is to dine. Highly recommended if you're looking for a meal that you wouldn't expect to find in Wasaga Beach. We'll definitely be back with friends!

Cozy atmosphere!Pricey but food is amazing. (Had the filet mignon steak on hot stone).Service does not meet the quality and presentation of food...service was slow, lacked professionalism from waitress/owner and not readily available... At that price ...no bread was served with dinner as there was none! Ask for garlic bread (with a fee) and voilà they now have bread! Pricey importation wines... Please have a few popular LCBO wines at least to compare.Don't mine paying 2 times what it really cost.Over that it kills the pleasure.Figure easily 100$/pers. To enjoy a full meal and wine.Wish the chef can give his staff is energy and passion. I will give it anorher try next year...
