Extra add-ons are available for an additional charge. Ozzi’s does an excellent job of blending two classic burger styles: the Meat Burger and the Augmented Burger. The Meat Burger is all about the beef; it's substantial, juicy, and shines on its own with minimal additions. On the other hand, the Augmented Burger relies on the beef as a base, enhanced by a mix of complementary flavors and textures. Ozzi’s manages to be both: there’s enough tasty beef to qualify as a Meat Burger, along with plenty of options for those seeking an Augmented experience. However, the wide variety of choices places the responsibility of crafting the perfect burger squarely on the customer. While having many options is exciting, it can also feel overwhelming. I sometimes wish there were a few set OzziBurger combinations for when I’m feeling indecisive. That said, my most recent creation—the Triple Onion Raw, Grilled Fried Strings topped with Ozzi’s Roasted Garlic Mayonnaise—was absolutely worth the effort and thought I put into it. How was it, you ask? Almost perfect. The flavor and texture of the Triple Onion combination—before adding the mayo—was fantastic: the sharpness of the raw onion, the sweet smokiness of the grilled onions, and the crunchy fried strings all came together beautifully. Just shy of perfection, though—I ordered my meat rare, but it seemed like the grill cook pressed it down, possibly to expedite cooking, which made it a bit thinner than I would have liked. You now have an idea of how I feel about the burgers at Ozzi’s. They do offer other items aside from the usual burger sides, including a salad selection with a Turkey Taco, as well as Turkey, Veggie, and Grilled Chicken burgers—but I’ve yet to see anyone order those. I do have a small complaint about the French Fries, which are advertised as “Ozzi’s World Famous French Fries” and claim to be “Double Cooked.” Unfortunately, they don’t quite reach that perfect balance of soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside that makes the indulgence worthwhile. The diverse clientele at Ozzi’s—suits, painter’s pants, spiked hair, and more—seems to indicate a loyal following. With plenty of foot traffic and retail activity on Post Rd. in Warwick, just a mile from TF Green, the food is great, and the staff genuinely wants to please. So why isn’t the place busier? I’m not sure. I urge you to do your civic and culinary duty. Visit Ozzi’s before it closes, so it doesn’t have to.
