Fearable, $55 in the garbage. I don't know if I've ever thrown out such food. Usually, if there is not the best you eat and chalk it up to not return, but this was literally not possible. Can't even eat. I had Pad Thai, it had a very dark red sauce? And noodles were red. You don't know what it was, but definitely was?t pad thai. Egg rolls were so overcooked and bad tasting I was afraid to get sick. Didn't even eat one. A bite to family member and they literally spit it in garbage. Do a favor and don't even waste your time or money. I literally feel like they ripped me off because I didn't eat anything. Don't go. I'm sure I miss Sunshine Express, that was the best.
I didn't order American fried Chinese food here a problem in the past. Tonight I ordered some sushi rolls and some fried dumplings and a soup. I ate about 4 pieces of my spicy tuna and sweet potato rolls then got sick. Just didn't sit well with me. I can't eat the rest. It was also almost impressive bland. I?ve had supermarket sushi, that was worth Michelin star in comparison. Knödel were underboiled and smelled like an old fry oil. The dough was so tough that I had to spit it out. Maybe I shouldn't have eaten it. Soup was good. $34 with a tip and everything in the garbage. Too bad. I'm sorry to be real.
I stopped by the old sunshine to see what was up. Sounds like the kitchen staff bought the restaurant from the owners of sunshine since no other buyers came forward. Is this accurate idk but that's what I was told. I ordered orange chicken, and house lo mein no veggies. It was all good but felt like it was missing little flavor but isn't far off from the original deal. They are very under staffed. The place was dead compared to when it was under the old ownership. There no more delivery through the restaurant you will have to use big delivery company like grub hub and or door dash etc. The owner and or two workers I dealt with where kind and polite. If given a chance with a open mind you might find something you like. It's definitely not identical to sunshine but that's why they are in works of changing there name and menu because they know there different. They need staff and chance to keep the doors open to expand like the old owners success.
I'm rooting for local businesses but there's work to be done here. I went thru the menu and ordered over 10+ dishes that I used to get in order to make a proper assessment with the new ownership. Good news is that the menu is almost identical so if you're worried about selection they have it. The bad news however is that the taste and presentation has changed. Half of the dishes I ordered tasted as good as Sunshine yet the other half was bland and appeared amateurish as if they were either skimping out on ingredients and/or did not know how to cook the dish. Lo Mein was dry, overcooked. Fried rice tasted okay but had almost nothing in it and was an odd color. All the fried foods were still good (hard to mess those up). General Tso was still as good as well as the chow fun. Sushi was so so, very small for what they're charging. Ordered a boba and it was the worst I've EVER had. I took a sip and had to throw it away. Overall, 50/50. We gave them a shot but will likely give them a pass next time. Staff appears nice. Lobby was a mess, ingredients being kept in the front beverage coolers. They just don't seem to be ready or capable of handling a menu of this size. At these prices, if only half the food is as good as before from one ownership to the other that's simply unacceptable. Maybe downsize the menu and focus on quality.
Terrible. I gave him a star because I can't give it less. I spent $45 on an expulsion and most of us threw it out. I've never had bad Chinese before. Boneless replacement ripple dinner swim in molasses or another black syrup that spills on all other foods. Pig rice smelling like fish? Egg roll filled with gray brown musk. That was mine, not the personal nightmare of the other three people when they opened their dinner. I tried to eat it but couldn't, and believe me that I love my Chinese food, but that's just not...
