Glad they're back in town really missed out on their food for the last year-and-a-half or so trying. Was trying to find a Chinese restaurant similar to their style of cooking didn't like all the places I have tried. Menu is similar to the old one with an upgrade I think. Good bang for the buck as well.

This is by far the best place to get shrimp and lobster sauce—they prepare it in the brown, Cantonese style, which is hard to find done well. It's incredibly addictive! I usually order takeout since I live just a block away. The lo mein and fried rice are pretty good too. The General Tso's chicken could use some improvement, but the attractive woman at the door definitely catches your eye. The egg foo young and boneless ribs are also quite tasty. I haven't tried much else because I'm so hooked on the lobster sauce. One downside is that they don’t provide complimentary rice with your order; it's an extra dollar or two for a large. Since I'm a bit frugal, I just make some on the stove before heading out to pick up my food, and by the time I'm back, it's ready. Honestly, I'm pretty cheap! If I could replicate this food at home, I would, but I'm just not good at cooking.

My friends and I recently visited Eastern Star Restaurant, and we were amazed by how fresh and delicious all the dishes were. I've had Chinese food of this quality before, but only at very expensive restaurants. It was clear that everything was made to order, and I was really impressed by the use of spices. I will definitely return to Eastern Star; you've gained loyal customers in us!

This restaurant is now called New Island Restaurant. We ordered both the vegetable soup and the chicken noodle soup, and they were fantastic. They were flavorful and refreshing without being overwhelming. The staff was very friendly and provided prompt service. I loved my experience there!
