Bakersfield Mass Ave - Warren Park

Food was decent, tacos came together with appetizers and were already cold, still delicious. Service wise we sat and waited for solid 15 minutes, I then complained to host and the server who was chatting with next table the whole time told us we got caught in middle of shift change so hence the slow service, which should never affect glow of service.

Menu change- shrimp and fish tacos had a new flair which wasn't great. The new queso without the pickled peppers was lacking flavor. Service was excellent as always but bring back the og shrimp, fish and loaded queso. And the aqua fresco aka shrimp ceviche Sadly, Bakersfield is Currently off the roster

The section we had requested in the reservation wasn't available so we ended up in the much louder large table section. It took about 20 minutes to get waters. The bar kitchen were backed up which was understandable but our food still came out cold and missing ingredients that were never brought to us after telling the server the red onion on my salad was in fact not hearts of palm as he said. The manager took off the cold tacos but was not very professional about it. Our last set of drinks also never came out so my friend had to get them directly from the bartender. It was a very disappointing experience considering we had been there many times before.

It was for my birthday and even though it was crowded and a longer wait to be seated and get food the server was amazing! he was extremely attentive with all that he had going on and have great advice on the tacos and drinks... all were AMAZING..... every single taco was YUM and the pineapple margarita was easily the best margarita i have ever had!!! we also all got a free round of birthday shots and our apps were free due to the wait! An amazing atmosphere with even better staff and food:

Bakersfield is a Mass Ave classic that we often return to. We enjoy the restaurant but were disappointed in our wait time. We were seated at 7:15 for a 6:45 reservation and service was very slow.
