Hemingway's American Grill - Wantagh

The place was very clean and the staff was nice and very attentive to their tables. Very nice selection of dishes, but the French toast and potatoes, was simply warm and the sausage was very dry and cold. At $30 a person it was not worth it because it only contains coffee and no cocktails. The chocolate moose was a nice light breakfast moose that saved the day.

Delicious food. Very pleasant service. Not as big a choice as I remembered.

I'm here several times. Always at the edge of the size. Tasted and well prepared, but food should be hotter (baked potatoes actually cold in the middle). Accompanying staff and friendly service.

Finally ordered the braised short ribs and they were excellent. Practically melt in your mouth. Atmosphere is always welcoming and cozy. Service was great!

I don't frequent this restaurant often, but I always stop by when I'm in the area. I was taken aback by the negative reviews I saw. In my experience, the food here has always been exceptional, prepared well, and bursting with interesting flavors. There was only one instance when the service was lacking, but it was on a particularly busy night. This restaurant tends to be bustling, so the best time to visit is during off-peak hours for a more enjoyable dining experience.
