The Cat's Back - Wandsworth

Nice little place close to the Wandsworth park. Head here if you've had an exhausting day at the park with the young ones. The selection of beers is alright and the food's good and wholesome. Nothing to write home about but a very safe option to fall back on

A cosy old English pub by the river with friendly staff and a good choices of beers and wines. Popped in after a long river walk and had a nice pint of Harveys. Tried the pie of the day an excellent home made chicken...pie with lovely mash, cabbage and a separate jug of very good gravy. Why do people worry about food taking time? If food is cooked fesh it will take a while, but mine arrived after fifteen minutes just as I orderd another drink. Large plate of delicious food just like mum or rather grandma used to cook. The price of sixteen pounds may seem expensive to some but I was so pleased to get some decent food the price for me is irrelevant, I have paid more for poor food in many a London restaurant. I will be back with friends for a beer and to try the rest of the menu.

Came to try this pub with my family on a Friday evening. The pub was not too busy. Ordered drinks at the bar and the food. than mins later still there was no food so enquired. The food eventually came another mins...later. Fish and chips was ok, the burger a bit dry. Pretty old and small , so don t expect massive spaces. Not sure if will visit again.

We’ve loved this place for so long, so I really hope Sunday’s experience wasn’t a sign of changes for the worse. The roast was average, rather than the normal exceptional quality. It was plonked on our table and I had to quickly ask for apple...sauce (with pork) before she walked away, saying they didn’t have any behind her. It didn’t have it’s normal friendly atmosphere and was (unfortunately) a bit like walking into a moody teenager’s bedroom. I really hope this was a one off. I always bring friends here and will be put off in future.
