The Cross Keys - Walsall

After reading some reviews, I was a little hesitant to visit this restaurant due to some unfair criticisms affecting the rating. However, I attended a Christmas meal with 29 others that we had booked, and I must say the staff were excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere and entertainment were fantastic. The drinks were a bit pricey, but that seems to be the norm in most pubs nowadays, so I can't fault them for that. This is a family-friendly pub and restaurant, not a fancy establishment, so a bit of a wait for a large party like ours is to be expected - but really, what's the rush? The staff even served us appetizers while we waited, at no extra charge. The chef clearly has a knack for making burgers with top-quality ingredients - no cheap cuts of meat here. Overall, we had a fantastic time and I will definitely be returning. Kudos to everyone at Lynx Mcc and family, especially to our hostess who handled some banter from the lads with good humor. She worked incredibly hard and deserves a big shoutout. Thank you for a great experience.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Cross Keys and I strongly advise against holding any events here. The buffet food was terrible with no fillings in the sandwiches, the promised DJ was not booked, and the marquee we paid for was only half decorated. The manager was rude to myself, my husband, and our guests. We were forced to leave the marquee by 10pm even though we had paid until 12am. Please do not hold any events here as we were conned out of a lot of money and I do not want anyone else to go through what we experienced on Saturday night. Stay away from this pub. Thank you.

Starting with the positive, the restaurant seems to be taking good COVID safety measures. However, the lack of attentiveness towards new customers was a major downside. Despite the place not being busy, we waited nearly an hour for our meals with only two staff members visible. No one checked on us during this time. When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and my steak was inedible, forcing me to leave a third of it untouched. Additionally, one item was missing from the plate. The overall atmosphere was not very welcoming, as no one checked in on us to see if everything was alright with our meals. It seems that the staff either already knew the answer or simply didn't care. Needless to say, we won't be returning in a hurry.

This places gets too rowdy for my liking,especially during in the evening, it's does offer weekly karaoke though.

Just popped in on the way home. Only had burgers. Well cooked with a nice portion of chips and side salad. Staff very helpful and friendly. Young man serving didn’t just ask if the food was okay but took time to explain all the activities during the week. Asked us to make any suggestions to improve the pub and hoped we would visit again. Sincere young man and yes we will pop in again. Nice to be welcomed and our custom appreciated.
