The Homestead Cafe - WALLAROO

A great place to go for a lazy weekend lunch, brunch, afternoon tea in the country - but close to Canberra so easy to get to. Staff and service friendly and efficient. Location is lovely. The cakes are home-made (and good). Recommend the platter to share, but there's a good range of food on the menu including vegetarian options. Have been there more than once and would happily go again.

My wife and I came across this hidden gem while looking for wineries. We arrived without a booking and despite the restaurant being quite busy the friendly staff fitted us in. The coffee was some of the best I have had in Canberra and the service was efficient and friendly. My wife had the zucchini fritters and I had the beef pie the food was excellent we will definitely be back and perhaps next time it will be breakfast.

The view back towards Canberra was good, the restaurant was fully booked, and the food was great. The minor downside for us was the proximity to the horse facilities - but that could be a positive for others.

I've been here three times and one of those was my grandma's 90th birthday. The owners really made us feel welcome and went above and beyond for all our requests. My grandma had a great time. The food is great. Huge portions, you will not leave hungry! Good menu range and nice tea and coffee. They have nice tea rooms, although I haven't tried hig tea here, I'm sure it would be lovely. The Homestead is great on a sunny day. Easy parking, easy to find. A really good option for those looknig for something outside of Canberra.
