Good location eating looks good, but let them get off its taste

The sussex saved the day after another venue changed our table without announcing to a bank next to the entrance, adjacent to a party of 13. we couldn't think. the sussex may not be glamorous, but it was quiet and spacious. we stick to the classic menu for easy meals, well made with large portions. beautiful atmosphere and ample parking on the road made for a perfect afternoon. they expect to be gradually better after the last takeover by new management.

The meal I had for birthday dinner was fantastic. also in the position to have our dog with us in the beer garden was a plus. so glad the sussex is dog friendly

Went to Sussex Hotel on 9/10/22 for a meal and a drink with a friend. I don't know if they were just having a bad day, but overall it was a disappointing experience. If I could give it half a star I would. There appears to be some serious staff morale issues going on in the place. Staff were generally unwelcoming, unfriendly and don't seem to know the meaning of hospitality and customer service. The vibe was bordering on hostile! Not good if you want people to come back and spend money. The food was barely average at best and we spent around $80... Sussex Hotel, we gave you a chance, but we won't be back.

Beer was cold although it seems a pint down here is called an imperial. Food was great service worth a tip
